Akşehir Food Specialization Organized Industrial Zone (GİOSB) has been approved by the Ministry of Industry and Technology.

Akşehir Food Specialization Organized Industrial Zone Chairman Cafer Onur Keskin Akşehir Food Specialization Organized Industrial Zone on the Akşehir Afyon Highway between Yeniköy and Ulupınar Neighborhoods, an area of 37.8 hectares, which was previously a pasture and then transferred to the Treasury, will be operational. Akşehir Food Specialization Organized Industrial Zone establishment protocol was approved by the Ministry of Industry and Technology and gained legal personality.
 
Gıda İhtisas OIZ will be established on a total area of 37.8 hectares. By starting the parceling works, 70 percent (240 thousand 217 m2) of the said area is Industrial Parcel, 13 percent (44 thousand 611 m2) Green Area, 7 percent (24 thousand 21 m2) Roads, 6 percent (20 1,590 m2) consists of Social Facility Area and 4 percent (13,726 m2) of Treatment Department. It is envisaged that 25 industrial facilities will be established in the planned area and that approximately 1,500 people will be employed, and that the products of our region's farmers will be sold valuable in the fruit and vegetable processing facilities to be established.
 
He stated that the Food Specialization Organized Industrial Zone is an important step.
